What is PennApps Mobile?
PennApps Mobile is an application development competition held at the University of Pennsylvania. From January 14-16, the University’s best entrepreneurs and programmers will team up to build amazing mobile applications over the course of two days. The event is hosted by the Dining Philosophers, Penn’s Computer Science club, in collaboration with a number of campus groups.
Awesome things happen when you put really smart people in a room together – and PennApps is no exception! For us, the ability to connect with the brightest students with the biggest ideas one-on-one outside of the classroom was great.

What's different this time?
- PennApps has gone mobile. While our previous competitions have featured web and mobile applications, this year all teams will focus solely on developing an application for a mobile SDK.
- We're redoing how we do tech-talks. Rather than having a number of one hour tech-talks staggered throughout the day like in previous years, this time we're going to present the short API demos when we kick off and present the lengthier tech-talks before the competition.
Sponsorship Goals
We seek $10,000 in cash and services to fund advertising, equipment and room rental, food, and prizes (excluding sponsor-specific prizes). Budget details are available on request. We also seek slides for introducing mobile APIs and will optionally present them on your behalf.
Sponsorship Levels
We offer four sponsorship levels with the general benefits described below:
